Shea mositure + eco styler = THE BEST

Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie-
Pros:
  • super mositurizing
  • only $9.99 at Target - plus it lathers well so that means you use less and more bang for your buck :D
  • smells divine
Cons:
  • only sold at Target
  • absolutly no hold....so even though it enhances curl it wont stay that way
Eco Styler Gel (krystal)
Pros:
  • very good at hold and defining
  • only $5 for 32 oz. jar
  • Sold at alot of places
Con:
  • sometimes makes hair crunchy
~~~~~~~~~~~Quick Fix~~~~~~~~~~~~
COMBINE THE TWO PRODUCTS!!!!!
Shea Moistures smell and lasting moisture completly takes out the crunch out of the eco styler for defined yet soft hair.
For those of you who don't like to use gel but still like the definition...maybe you should at least try it...for the price its not bad!
And when i say no frizz i mean NONE! hair was beautiful and light and moisturized.
i used to have problem with the ends not curling and instead puffing out but i maid sure to concentrate product on ends so that wouldnt happen and the results are F A B U L O U S!
some times i go out a little out of control with the gel and when that happens I just apply a little (too much will cause the frizzies) Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the top and crunch is gone
my hair lasted all day...and will see if i get my first ever second day hair!!!!
IC does me WRONG!
Yeah...remember in my last post when I said I liked IC fantasia gel...
Yeah...wasn't exactly the truth...and it took me buying more Eco Styler Gel to realize that...
the hold did absolutly nothing for me....yea i got shine but if i really wanted some shine i'd just put some EVOO in....cost way less too!
Ic Fantasia only did justice for my edges and baby hairs....i may buy it again because it really is good for edges and baby hair but thats only if i have a lot of money...and as broke and cheap as I am that wont be anytime soon....
IC FANTASIA -Product Review
so i tried this gel because I was all out of my famed Eco Styler Gel and Target doesn't sell Eco!
P.S to any Target reps out there...you should strongly consider stocking up on Eco Styler because it is the bomb!
Anyways I tried the Olive Oil one with the sparkle lites
I like this product and with the Shea Moisture under neath i got no crunch!
While my hair did get muy excellente shine from the product...it was a little more than I wanted to pay for it..
don't get me wrong...this stuff is cheap! but eco styler is a little bit cheaper and in my opinion gives a better hold
And I felt as if my curls were defined but they began to lose their shape by the end of the day...that could have been that i used a little to much shea moisture though!
Well thats all I gotta say for now...Ta-Ta for now curlies!!!
SM CES
I begged my dad to take me to Target so I can get the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie that EVERYONE is talking about. Now the product is a little more than I wanted to pay - $9.99. But I heard from my curly divas that a little goes a long way so I'm sure it will last me a while.
The first thing I did at the store was open it and take a whiff....and OMG! The Curl Enhancing Smoothie Smells delicious. The scent is supposed to be Coconut & Hibiscus - now i don't know what the heck a hibiscus is but i need to get me some. It smelled like I was sipping pina coladas on a sunny beach in the Carribean instead of being in Cold Dry Maryland. Maybe I'm exaggerating a little but this smell was definatly in my top 3 of scents.
 Took it home cowashed my hair and lathered some of this stuff on- remember not to much or else you'll have a "follecular disaster." I know you've heard this from every other curly hair blog and video on youtube but what im about to say is 100% true..THIS STUFF MADE MY HAIR SO SOFT AND MOISTURIZED.
I don't think it really helped at all with curl definition but it definatly did soften up my hair...my hair had shine all day! I'm so loving this product...I can't wait to get more! :)
oh and did i mention its certified organic! definatly a plus!
Ok! I haven't even BEGAN to go into my fave gel!
It's ECO STYLER GEL yall! :)
This stuff is the bomb diggity like...no lie!
My curls have never been so defined yet soft...
Smell: not the best
Hold: Amazingly good
Price: CHEAP
Come on you all....it comes in clear, olive oil and protein and some kinda pink one that I can't think off! but 32 oz of this stuff for less than $5 is a heck of a good price if i do say so myself.....CHECK IT OUT! (<--got myself a catch phrase :D )
Get to the beauty supply!
Flaxseed Gel!
Hey curlies,
I haven't posted a blog update in a while so here it goes....
So the buzz around the curly bush is that flaxseed gel is the stuff!
Apparently flaxseed emit a gel when you boil them and the gel REALLY defines curls....I can't wait to try it!
best of all its $3 for like a whole bag! and did i mention that you can reuse the seeds....
Super duper cost efficient...JUST LIKE I LIKE IT! :)
If you've heard about Kinky Curly Curling Custard the curly peeps are buzzing and saying its basically the same for a heck of alot cheaper
I will try to post a picture of my flaxed hair
Want to know more about flaxseed?
Curly Christmas List!
Well the best way to save money on curls is to ask for the products for Christmas!!!!
So here is my Curly Girl Christmas List!:
- Denman D3 Brush:
Is supposed to be great for detangling as well as styling and
defining curly hair! The D3 has 7 row of bristles but for more
finer hair you can opt for the D4 which has 9 rows of bristles.
They can be kind of expensive, ranging from about 8-15 dollars
 which is pricey for a brush . But some curlies say its a staple
of theirs! View it here. But if you don't trust it's also here on Amzon
! Both cheaper than the asking price at the Beauty Supply!
There's also knockoffs by Goody and Conair which retail for
around $4.00.
-Sue Maesta Hooded Headband:
 Also a staple for a lot of curlies. It is currently only sold at Ricky's
 in New York City.  However you can order it online here in black
and a variety of other colors. It is  $12.99 which is really expensive
especially because it "feels like a pantyhose" (AFRICANEXPORT)
But it has been reported by other YouTube natural hair vloggers to
be very versatile and also help to preserve curls at night.  Here is
Taren916's video of her night routine with the hooded band. And
here she is  again with some cute styles you can do with the band.
You Can Call Me "A!"
Here's all the information you could ever know about my hair!:
  • I'm an african american with (quote-unquote) african american hair but it curls so im happy!
  • I have been natural all my life but last year I took a step in taking better care of my hair
  • I have suffered from excessive heat damage
  • My hair is shoulder length in its curly state
  • My hair when flat ironed it is about bra strap length
  • I love Wash n go's (not sure what that is? comment)
  • I love the whole wet look of hair!
  • I am always looking for new products
  • I have different hair textures ALL OVER MY HEAD
  • My hair type is not on the hair chart of the Naturally Curly website
  • I am not all that into protective styling
  • I love to do wash and go's
  • I have been desperatly trying to get 2nd and 3rd day hair
  • I can't get 2nd day hair because I barely get first day hair!
  • I am open to answer any questions!
Curls for LESS??!??
I know some peoples definition of cheap differs from person to person.
So I thought that I would share MY definition of cheap.
As I have said before I'm a teenager:
NO source of income.
 I get NO allowance
And everytime I ask my parents for money they say NO!
So my goal is to get enough products that work, but at a reasonable price so my parents can get them for me and they have to be able to LAST.
Im majorly cheap...
EL CHEAP-O
so for me the most that I will ever spend on a product is $15! I have some products that are more than that, (Carol's Daughter Hair Milk) but thats just because my mom was in a extremly giving mood!
But trust me the only time I will ever get a product as pricy as $15 is if I know that it is going to last!!!!!!
So my goal is to find inexpensive products, that will last me a few months!
Girl Behind The Curl!
Hello curlies!
This is the first of a very long run of blog postings! Thought that I would start off with a little bit of background!
I am a teenager.
NO I am not mixed with another type of ethnicity!
NO I have never had a perm, texturizer or relaxer before!
NO I do not have a specific hairtype!
YES I am African American!
but do I think that means you can't have curly hair NO!
I am here to suggest products, give people ideas and recommedations WITHOUT spending alot of money!
Like I said before I am a teenager, so i have no type of income but I do feel that I can help curly people.
We may not have the same hair texture...
We may not be going through the same hair issues...
But I feel that you can learn from other people no matter what their hairtype is!
We're helping eachother! So feel free to comment, reply and ask questions and I will help the best that I can! :)
